We are delighted to be supporting this year’s Green Hustle festival in Nottingham! Check out the many different ways that our academics are getting involved with at this exciting free public event below.
Friday 2nd June: World of Work Day at Dryden Enterprise Centre
Saturday 3rd- Sunday 4th June: Green Hustle in Market Square and across the city
Green Hustle is an event which will bring the city of Nottingham together to celebrate sustainability, accessibility and diversity within our city. The main event will be running on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of June, in Market Square, with fringe events and a day of action for local businesses running from the 2nd to the 4th of June in various parts of the city.
The excellent lineup prepared by the Green Hustle Team includes a lot of representation for the research and social engagement going on at the University of Nottingham! Feel free to pop by our Discovery and Learning stalls in Market Square for a range of excellent activities, including:
- “Pollutants in our Waterways” with Lisa Yon;
- “Conspiracy Kitchen” with Daniel Jolley;
- “Flooding and Water Quality” with Henry Fell and Emily O’Donnel;
- “The Climate Change Gamebook Adventure” with Johnny Halls;
- “Community Visioning: Spaces We Love and Signs of Hope” with Katie Keddie;
- “Food Supply Chains” with Anne Touboulic and Rosanna Wilson.
Once you’ve had a taste of the stalls, you can engage with our contributors in activities ranging from cinema to theatre and DIY. Try your hand at making your own slow cookers with Mike Clifford at in Market Square, or enjoy moving sculptures at Roma Patel’s “Thingamabobas” display at City Arts.
If you’re more interested in the business side of things, why not come on a Friday and talk to some of our own researchers and entrepreneurs at the World of Work Day hosted by the Dryden Enterprise Centre?
That’s just a small selection of the wildly diverse lineup we have at the Green Hustle Festival – there’s something for everyone in this showcase of what our city and university can do!
