The ACT Research Group from the University of Nottingham kindly invite you to their seminar with guest speaker, David Ames, Executive Director, Stewardship and Development, Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation. In this seminar, the story of Letchworth from its inception to today will be explored. This will include a discussion on how we ensure Letchworth continues a great place to live, to improve live chances for people and to provide people with a healthy environment are our objectives and the modern challenges of meeting Letchworth's growth requirements, applying a modern interpretation of these values and design principles.

The ACT Research Group from the University of Nottingham kindly invite you to their seminar with guest speaker, Dr Richard Hayes. In this talk, architectural historian Richard W. Hayes focuses on three of Moore's eight houses to delineate a portrayal of the designer. As experimental works, the houses evince Moore's interest in the role of memory, the importance of the sensing body, and contrasts between high art and pop culture.

The ACT Research Group from the University of Nottingham are hosting a seminar from guest speaker, Dr Nader El-Bizri. Nader El-Bizri is a Leverhulme Visiting Professor in Intellectual History at Durham University and a Professor of Civilization Studies and Philosophy at the American University of Beirut. This talk focuses on the confluences of the architectural-pictorial arts with the optical-mathematical sciences within the Perspectiva traditions that unfolded in the European milieu from the High Middle ages and up to the early-modern epoch, and passing by the Italian Renaissance.

This seminar is being hosted by the ACT Research Group at the University of Nottingham. Guest speaker includes Executive Director David Ames. David is a Chartered Town Planner and qualified surveyor and is responsible for strategic town planning, heritage and environment matters. He has 26 years experience in private and public sectors and returned to the Heritage Foundation in 2011, following working for us between 1997 to 2002.

Our next public events are two exhibitions in London and Nottingham, with guided tours available, to celebrate the publication of Dr Bernadette Devilat's book: Digital Records, Heritage Conservation and Post-earthquake Re-onstruction in Chile https://www.taylorfrancis.com/books/mono/10.4324/9781003172147/digital-records-heritage-conservation-post-earthquake-re-construction-chile-bernadette-devilat

They showcase the visual work underpinning the research published in the book. Come and explore 3D laser scanning architectural representations, images, videos and 3D printed models of the heritage villages of Tarapacá, Zúñiga, and Lolol in Chile, as captured after, before and during the reconstruction processes carried out in response to the 2005 and 2010 earthquakes.
