Participants in the ISOVER Multi-Comfort House Students Contest 2014, in London, were tasked with presenting a design vision for a school in the Metropolitan Municipality of Gaziantep, Turkey, which is currently implementing its ‘Climate Change Action Plan’.
Nottingham Built Environment students had to design a school that combined classical school elements with modern learning facilities, taking into account the existing realities for a new ECO Project developed by the Municipality. All entries had to also comply with ISOVER's Multi-Comfort House principles, which focus on delivering the highest thermal comfort and reduced CO2 emissions, within a visually appealing setting.
Entries from all over the UK were received, with Nottingham being represented by 7 very strong projects by MArch and MSc students. Heba Nazer, Abril Deni Balbuena and Umer Mahmood, and Nalendra Gigih, Haipeng Wang and Nadia Vashtiwon won the top two prizes, and will be preparing to go to the final international stage, from 28-31 May, in Bucharest, Romania.
Congratulations and fingers crossed!
