Biography

Amelia joined the university in 2020 to undertake her PhD in equine end-of-life care decision-making, funded by The Horse Trust. Through this project she developed resources to support horse owners and vets communicate about difficult topics, and make plans to promote positive health and welfare throughout their horses' lives, up to and including end-of-life. Amelia continued this work as a postdoctoral researcher, working on refining and improving the resources. She was successful in applying for a fellowship position, funded by the Morris Animal Foundation, to trial and implement the resources in veterinary practices across the UK.
