HLGC - Knowledge Exchange Seminar

Location
A3 Law and Social Sciences Building
Date(s)
Friday 12th December 2025 (13:00-14:00)
Description

As we near the end of teaching, we would like to invite you to the HLGC’s last event for the semester, which is a Knowledge Exchange Seminar running from 1pm-2pm, 12 December, LASS A3.

We are very pleased to be welcoming Duncan Leatherdale (BBC) to speak on the topic of ‘How to Talk to Journalists about Knowledge Exchange for Law and History Academics’.

Duncan is a published author and senior broadcast journalist for BBC News online, researching and writing daily news stories and long-form features.

He won the features category at the 2018 British Journalism Awards, and worked for the Wear Valley and Teesdale Mercurys and Northern Echo before moving to BBC online in 2014.

Duncan has previously interviewed our own Will Eves on the topic of trial by ordeal (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45799443), which might become a particularly timely topic if we are forced to come up with solutions to replace trial by jury.
