HLGC Knowledge Exchange Seminar

Location
D13 Monica Partridge building
Date(s)
Monday 23rd February 2026 (12:00-14:00)
Description

HLGC will be joined by Dr Charlotte May from the University of Nottingham Manuscripts and Special Collections.

This session will provide an introduction to the legal documents that Manuscripts and Special Collections hold, with a specific focus on the complexities of manorial estates. This seminar will then discuss the challenges and opportunities of working with these documents, from handling medieval manuscripts in the reading room to considering the copyright limitations on using unpublished documents. Manuscripts and Special Collections holds 3.5 million items, 80,000 rare books, and also includes the University’s Museum of Archaeology.

This is a great opportunity to hear more about the archival holdings the University of Nottingham have, which are really impressive.
