Biography

Currently Research Projects Manager for Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) E Mids, Helen Taylor manages a suite of research projects within the Building Community Resilience and Enabling Independence Theme (BCREI). Helen operationally manages the Nottingham Stroke Research Partnership Group, an advisory PPIE panel of stroke survivors and carers who review research studies and feed back based on their lived experience. Helen is a member of the School of Medicine PPI Working Group and a member of the University's Responsible Digital Futures group.

Helen's background has been extensive, including PR, Events Management, Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Fundraising, Income Generation, Alumni Relations experience across many sectors including higher education, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, engineering, & leisure industries.

Helen previously worked as Development Director at St John's College Nottingham, building relationships with major donors. The role involved fundraising (corporate, legacies, alumni, HVD, annual fund, grant-making trusts and HEI Local Authority grants), marketing, alumni relations, business development to increase income streams and partnership development. Grant and donor income exceeded £500,000 to establish a new children and families worker HE course, buildings extensions and modifications and initiation of a major new build for a state-of-the-art Learning Resource Centre at £2m.
