BA/BSc Single Honours Geography

(UCAS code L700/F800)

The single honours Geography course offers a broad and flexible programme of study which equips graduates with the necessary skills of analysis and synthesis to critically understand information from a wide range of sources. The first year is a foundation programme covering human and physical geography and geographical information science. Students are encouraged to choose any optional modules they wish at the appropriate level from across the University. Many opt to study languages, the social and natural sciences or engineering, in addition to modules offered by the School of Geography.

“The course is both broad and challenging, particularly some of the core modules which were surprisingly rewarding (e.g. statistics). Geography students have always worked well together in different groups – the course is highly sociable” (BSc Geography graduate, 2004)
