The Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies celebrates its centenary at The University of Nottingham. Since 1915, the department has grown from evening courses in Russian language to today’s research centre of international excellence in Slavonic and South-East European studies.

This gallery presents some of the highlights from the past 100 years, with photographs of staff and students, materials from over 50 years of theatre productions, and accounts of student life in Nottingham and abroad.

We hope that this exhibition will reflect happy memories of university experiences and the history of Slavonic studies at Nottingham, and even inspire potential students in the course of their future study.
