The WHO Child Growth Standards	This web site presents standards developed using data collected in the WHO Multicentre Growth Reference Study. The site presents documentation on how the physical growth curves and motor milestone windows of achievement were developed as well as application tools to support implementation of the standards.

Body Mass Index (BMI) : This is a tool that can be used to tell how healthy a person's weight is.
For adults:
- Take your weight in kilograms (kg) and divide it by your height in metres (m);
- Divide the result by your height in metres (m) again.
A BMI over 25 in adults suggests an increased risk of developing serious health problems.

In children and young adults the amount of body fat differs between boys and girls, and varies according to age. Children are therefore considered to be obese only if weight and height are plotted on a gender/age appropriate centile chart, and weight is recorded as equal to or greater than the 95th centile.
