Biography

I qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2008 and worked in small animal practice for 11 years prior to moving to the University of Nottingham. During my time in practice I enjoyed all aspects of veterinary work, and completed my Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Veterinary Dermatology. I still work one day a week in small animal practice seeing a mix of cases, including dermatology second opinions.

At the University of Nottingham my role is quite varied. I teach on the final year rotations, supervising students consulting in local charity practices. I module convene the Year 2 Endocrine and Integument (ENI) module, and am involved in undergraduate teaching, particularly dermatology and endocrinology. My role also involves developing and delivering post-graduate CPD which is delivered predominantly online, but I also deliver in-person attendance days.

Teaching Summary

I teach final year students as part of their final year charity rotation, and also teach undergraduate students predominantly covering dermatology in years 2 and 4.

I have completed my Post-Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE).
