Biography

I Began my Veterinary career in 2000 working as a trainee veterinary nurse at a small animal practice in Ilkeston Derbyshire, I trained with a combination of on the job portfolio work and regular block release to Myerscough agricultural college. I gained my NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Veterinary nursing and was officially placed on the list of RCVS Veterinary nurses in 2004.

Since then I have worked at various small animal practice including a small orthopedic and soft tissue referral center, where I was head Veterinary nurse. My specific areas of interest are in anesthesia and critical care nursing.

Expertise Summary

I am heavily involved in both the teaching and examination of practical skills whilst running the Clinical Skills center here at the school.

I am a Registered veterinary nurse with clinical experience in small animal dentistry, critical care, medical and surgical nursing with a emphasis on orthopedic care.

I am additionally trained in small animal clinical nutrition and communication with emphasis on nurse based support clinics.

Teaching Summary

I am interested in the involvement of veterinary nurses in Uk based academia at UK based vet schools.

I have a clinical interest in Nutrition in small animal and also clinical nutrition and how this is used in the treatment of various conditions.
