Venue information

The SLS PhD conference 2014 is being held at the University of Nottingham School of Law All sessions will take place in the Law and Social Sciences building at University Park Campus. The School is building number 7 on the campus map.

University Park is approximately 3 miles from the centre of Nottingham and can easily be reached by bus, taxi, or car.

Getting here from Nottingham City Centre

By Bus

From Broadmarsh bus station (about 250 metres walk from the train station), catch one of the following Trent Barton buses:

  • North Entrance to the University: Rainbow 4, 5
  • East, South and West Entrances: Rainbow 5, 18, 21

The following Nottingham City Transport services also pass near or through the campus and can be picked up from stops near the Market Square in the City Centre. The location in brackets pin points where they stop near the University.

  • 13 (University Boulevard)    
  • 34 (Portland Hill in the Campus - term time only)    
  • 35, 36, 37, 38 (Derby Road)

 

By Taxi

There are taxi ranks throughout the City Centre and immediately adjacent to the main railway and bus stations. The journey to the campus takes about 15 minutes.

 

Getting here from Beeston (approximately 1.5 miles)

The Rainbow 5 Trent Barton service runs from Beeston Bus Station (about 10 minutes walk from the railway station along Station Road) past the South and North entrances to the University, as well as passing QMC. Nottingham City Transport service 13 has a stop in Queen's Road, about 5 minutes walk from the Beeston railway station, turning right out of Station Road.

 

Getting here from East Midlands Airport (approximately 10 miles)

By Bus

From East Midlands Airport you can take Trent Barton Bus 5, or the Nottingham Skylink to Nottingham.  Buses leave from outside the Airport Arrivals hall.

Taxi

You can walk to the taxi rank on the terminal forecourt and take a direct taxi to the University. The cost of a single/one way journey is approximately £20. Taxis are normally available 24 hours.

 

Getting here by Car

From M1 Motorway Leave the M1 motorway at Junction 25 to join the A52 to Nottingham. Turn right at The Priory roundabout (about 4 miles from M1), then left at next roundabout to enter the University's West Entrance. Car parking Parking is extremely limited on University Park. Visitors to the School of Law should park in the Main Visitor Car Park on the University Park Campus (see map).  Please ensure that you pay the correct fare if in a pay and display car park, as wheel clamping is in operation.
