Sitting Volleyball is another version of Volleyball which has been adapted to allow anyone to take part, including those with a disability. If you have big hands, good upper body strength, long arms or a leg amputation, then you have some of the characteristics to be the perfect sitting volleyball player.
The pilot session will cater for all abilities and be run by some of the country’s top volleyball coaches. You could also get the opportunity to be inspired and play with some of the GB Sitting Volleyball squad from the Beijing Paralympics.
It’s fun, it’s sociable and can also help to improve your cardiovascular fitness, core stability and co-ordination. Whether you’re looking to take up a new sport and play competitively or just enjoy yourself and get fit, then this could be the sport for you.
It’s a free session, so if you’re interested, join in at the University Park Sports Centre, Sunday 15 November 2009, 3 – 5pm.
