The first Life Cycle training run for the Robin Hood races have taken place, as University of Nottingham fundraisers continue to prepare for the Mini, Half and Full Marathon challenges on Sunday 24th September.
So far 320 people have signed up to run in the races as part of the UoN 500 Lifecycle 7 team: the team consists of staff, students, alumni, family and friends all raising money for the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre.
All runners in the event will wear the Lifecycle 7 official running shirt and it should be a great community event for the University. The team features runners of all different abilities and the David Ross Sports Village is also helping with training courses for beginners and intermediate runners.
If you are interested in joining the UoN 500 Lifecycle 7 team — or volunteering to support the fundraising activities — please email kevin.shakesheff@nottingham.ac.uk.
There is no limit on the number of people who can sign up as a runner and the team is especially keen to hear from alumni and current students.
You can find out more about the event on the UoN500 team Facebook group.
The international campuses will also be taking part in races in Kuala Lumpur and Ningbo in October. The Kuala Lumpur race is the HSN21KM Night Race on 14 October and the 2017 Ningbo International Marathon is on 28 October.
