Positive Minds is an initiative run by Student Minds, the UK’s Student Metal Health charity. It offers peer support and aims to empower students to lead positive university lives.
University is an exciting and invigorating experience but it can also – at times – be stressful. Positive Minds meets on a weekly basis, offering peer support sessions for students, covering topics such as building a support network, establishing healthy routines and exploring different relaxation techniques.
The group provides a non-judgemental, confidential and supportive space for you to share your worries, hear how others may have overcome these challenges, and receive individualised signposting to professional services. The group also offers access to a number of helpful resources.
Positive Minds is open to all and welcomes students with low mood, mild depression, or those who are simply interested in self-help. The programme consists of six sessions that run throughout the semester and students can join at any point during the programme.
This year there will be sessions at both University Park Campus and Sutton Bonington Campus.
