University phishing attacks

The University is currently receiving multiple phishing email attacks and as such you are advised to be vigilant against such attempts to gain details.

These emails normally ask you to follow a web link and/or ask for bank account details or personal credentials. Some may appear to have been sent by members of staff or other students.

Such emails are coming in from spoofed accounts including:

• UPS
• DHL
• O2
• Vodafone
• Some are coming from spoofed user accounts within the University. Subject ‘invoice from…’
• Phishing email suggesting to be from ‘NOTTINGHAM jobs’ regarding Part Time Book Keeper/Funds Processor Needed

If you are not expecting any invoices or parcel delivery etc, please DO NOT respond to the email. DO NOT click on any web links and please contact the IT Service Desk.

If you have clicked on a web link or downloaded files, please do not hesitate to contact the IT Service Desk or contact your local IT support team.
