This weekend will be the last before many of you return home for the winter break – especially if you have taken part in Covid testing and received a negative test result.

Please remember that, however frustrating it might feel, Covid restrictions still apply. Nottingham is in the Very High Alert (Tier 3) level, which covers all of our University campuses. This means that you cannot mix with other households inside under any circumstances and socialising outside must observe the rule of six. You cannot have visitors to your home and garden unless they are part of your support bubble.

Please don’t end the term with a fine or worse.

There will be an increased Police and Community Protection presence in the city this weekend, while our campuses will have an increased Police and security presence. Please do not risk your own health and that of others by attending parties or social gatherings. Those caught breaking the law will be caught and details will be passed onto the University’s disciplinary teams. Please continue to follow government guidelines and play your part in keeping everyone safe.

We would like to thank everyone who has been - and continues to – observe the rules. It plays a huge role in helping to keep everyone in our community safe. Thank you especially to those of you who have booked or taken a Covid-19 test – this is a major step towards keeping everyone around us safe during the festive season.

It’s crucial that we all continue to follow government guidance. This includes social distancing, washing and sanitising your hands regularly, and wearing a facemask when needed.
