ESR User Group

The ESR User Group maintains an overview of research and development in the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power. This information provides a means whereby the UK electricity generation and supply sector can identify and monitor current research being undertaking by UK research groups. This provides an effective method for large organisations to monitor progress within the latest developments and generates effective communications and an avenue of dissemination for current research and development (R&D) projects. The research projects surveyed are those funded under either Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Technology Strategy Board (TSB) or European Union (EU) funding schemes.

The aims of ESR are to raise the profile of UK research in the electricity field and to create synergy among UK research groups and to ensure to all competencies are maintained.

ESR is supported by The University of Nottingham and companies in the UK energy sector.  Apart from this open access site, the Group operates a restricted access area for its members which contains details of the monitoring of current projects and reviews of potential projects.
