Overview of progress and outcomes in selected research projects to:-

  • maintain an overview of R&D in the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power
  • focus on areas having a 3-10 year timescale to potential exploitation
  • assist with communication and dissemination of the progress in current R&D and of research outputs
  • oversee progress in a controlled portfolio of current research projects and to assist appropriate dissemination of key findings
  • monitor and record medium-term outcomes from this project portfolio

Expansion of the Network to:-

  • foster linkages and to ensure appropriate liaison in pursuit of the above-referenced aims
  • list newly-announced EPSRC, TSB and EC research projects for admission into the Network’s activities
  • approve and attach industrial correspondents to each selected project
  • consider and agree possibilities for new industrial  members

Promotion of research capability to:-

  • identify leading R&D facilities and expertise within the community
  • promote the future availability and development of strategic facilities and capabilities
  • forge and maintain links with other agencies and initiatives
  • oversee the development and maintenance of the ESR website
