The Widening Participation Team leads the University's work to engage learners from less advantaged backgrounds in education and support their progression to higher education, including the University of Nottingham. The Team delivers over 80,000 places on more than 3,400 outreach activities each year. We support measures across the student lifecycle relating to admissions, success, financial support and progression
The Academic Enrichment area of work targets high-achieving young people with the potential to progress to a selective university. Our programmes include the week-long Sutton Trust and Nottingham Potential Summer Schools in July, taster sessions, masterclasses and revision sessions for the pre-16 and post-16 Ambition Nottingham programme, as well as activities for other schemes such as Pathways to Law and Pathways to STEM.
As the Academic Enrichment Manager within the Widening Participation Team, I manage and oversee the University's outreach programme 'Ambition Nottingham' targeted at Pre 16 students. Further information regarding the programme can be found here https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/nottingham-potential/widening-participation/ambitionnottingham/sutton-scholars.aspx.
I am also responsible for managing and delivering the University's Nottingham Potential Summer Schools which is targeted at high achieving prospective post 16 students within the region.
