Biographical details

From Pamploma, Colombia, she married Juan Antonio Villamizar. In June 1810 she was arrested and imprisoned by Governor Bastus, for no apparent reason, and her wealth was confiscated. Her outraged family and friends united in opposition to this and joined the independence movement. (Monsalve, 116)
