Biographical details

From Bogotá, she married José María Carbonell who was executed by the royalists in June 1816. She could only watch him writhe in agony as his executioners did not kill him instantly, his clothes caught fire from the gunshots and he eventually burned to death. (Monsalve, 137-138)
