Biographical details

The daughter of Salvador Rodríguez de Lago and Catalina del Castillo, of the Sanz de Santamaría family, Bogotá. She married Joaquín Camacho on 13 June 1793. They had three children. He was executed in Bogotá by the royalists on 31 August 1816. She was awarded a monthly pension of 80 pesos by Bolívar. In January 1830 she wrote a letter to Bolívar (below) thanking him for his past support and asking him to continue her pension as her children were still studying, her brother had died and she had no other means of support. (Monsalve, 152-153)
