Born in Santafé de Bogotá, she was shot in Guateque on 6 December 1817 for her part in the independence struggles. (Hincapie Borda, 155)

On 4 December 1817 she was shot in Casanare by the Spaniards. She was not tried before a court, (P. Forero, 158)
