Description
The European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) has called on on the EU for funding to implement a new model for university education.The ECIU wants to change the way of delivering education from a degree based model to a challenge based system, suggesting an innovative educational model on a European scale.

Nottingham shortlisted for ECIU team award
Description
The University of Nottingham is part of a European team shortlisted for an award for their innovation in teaching and learning.?Some 13 innovations were submitted to the European Consortium of Innovative Universities' (ECIU) annual Team Award. Among the three finalists were the apps Erasmusnursing and Digisim, created by the universities of Stavanger, Nottingham and Valencia.

Nottingham student photographers snap up international competition
Description
Two University of Nottingham students have won an international photographic competition sharing a glimpse at their time studying abroad.The pair each won a category in the Universitas 21 Alternative Perspectives Photo Competition. The competition, which drew entries from more than 20 universities, celebrates the life-changing global mobility experiences enjoyed by students across the network.

The University of Nottingham has delivered a masterclass on research impact and knowledge exchange at the Indonesian Ministry for Research, Technology and Higher Education on their National Education Day.Nottingham was the only foreign university invited to share their expertise on improving research impact as well as collaboration between universities, research institutions and industry.

Ten criteria to maximise the impact of European Universities networks

Description
The European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU), of which Nottingham is a member, supports the development of ambitious European Universities Networks by sharing ten criteria, including five ideas for activities to be funded.The criteria includes:Ambition, knowledge triangle, mutual trust, openness to surrounding communities, openness to the world. open governance structure, no number fits all, commitment on different university levels, commitment from the member states and integrated education, research and innovation actvities.

European diploma is our future
Description
Earlier this month Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) organised meetings of representatives of European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) in Vilnius and Kaunas. The members of the Board, Vice-Rectors for Research and Innovation, leaders of PhD schools and other representatives of innovative universities from 12 European countries and Mexico were discussing the issues of one European Diploma and university networking. This was the first ECIU meeting of this scale in Lithuania.
