Congratulations to Heshan Du, for winning the Dean of Engineering commendation award at the Engineering Research Placement Celebration event today in recognition of the excellent work done by her during her internship at the Open Source Lab in the Centre for Geospatial Science.
Heshan developed an innovative Open Source based Ontology matching software for data integration of crowd sourced and authoritative data . All source code from the project will be released under open source licence for the benefit of the wider community. Special thanks to Nuffield Foundation for funding this work.
Open Source Lab is a key initiative to bring together staff and students interested in open source with the vision to make University of Nottingham the key leader in the research and development of high-impact, open-source software technologies, training and expertise.
