The Copernicus Effect

The European Commission recently released its first Copernicus Market Report, which predicts that by 2020 the programme will have created 28,000 jobs and provided EUR 13.5 billion worth of economic benefit, in addition a broad range of non-monetary benefits are being felt across all sectors.

The report shows the emergence of a Copernicus-enabled eco-sysgtem that is propagating a range of applications that are creating jobs and growth AND addressing societal challenges.  All stakeholders agree that these benefits are expected to grow significantly in the future, and that the programme represents excellent value for money.
