Hundreds of student nurses from the School of Health Sciences are volunteering to support frontline medical staff during the coronavirus pandemic, by signing up for extended paid placements in the NHS.

Out of the almost 200 student nurses who have agreed to undertake one of the placements, which are for a minimum of 12 weeks, 172 of them are expected to stay at local trusts across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, including Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Nottingham Citycare Partnership, Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust.
