Circling the square 2: universities, the media, citizens and politics

The 'Circling the square 2: universities, the media, citizens and politics' conference will be hosted by the Science, Technology and Society Priority Group on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 June.

The conference will explore the role of knowledge in policy making, bringing together international scholars in the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, practitioners at the science-policy interface, the public and the media. The conference will conclude with a public debate at the Council House, Nottingham.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Professor David Nutt, Director of the Neuropsychopharmacology Unit, Imperial College London, and previously Chair of the Advisory Committee on the Misuse of Drugs.
  • Professor Mike Hulme, Professor of Climate and Culture, King's College London, author of Can Science Fix Climate Change? and Why We Disagree About Climate Change.
