The Tri Campus Games run from Sunday 24 to Thursday 28 June. Students from Nottingham’s UK, China and Malaysia campuses will compete in a range of different sports and activities.
Back in the UK this year, 180 students will face off in 16 disciplines from table tennis to tug of war. Under the banner ‘friendship through sport’, participants will also take part in a number of cultural activities, chosen to give them a unique educational experience and the chance to build lasting friendships.
This year’s Games are being kicked off in style at the University Sports Centre from 5pm on Sunday. There will be a spectacular launch show featuring over 100 performers, including a preview of the Torch Relay celebratory performance, especially created for the Market Square torch welcome on 28 June by Lakeside and Dance4.
Entitled Heroes of Nottingham it will involve a massed choir, cheerleader sequence, breakdance from QMX, and dance sequence led by Subtext, and will focus on some of Nottingham’s most famous cultural celebrities mythical and actual.
And, as an added extra, the audience are invited to join in with the final sequence.
