Gravity and the welfare gains from trade

The Nottingham Centre for Research on Globalisation and Economic Policy (GEP) is delighted to welcome Thierry Mayer (Sciences-Po) to deliver the three Nottingham Lectures in International Economics.

This is an annual event and past speakers have included Giancarlo Corsetti (University of Cambridge), Christian Dustmann (University College London), Brian Copeland (University of British Columbia), and Peter Neary (University of Oxford), among others.

The lecture series will take place as follows:

Monday 14 March, 12pm: ‘Theory-consistent gravity, measuring and interpreting trade policy events’

Tuesday 15 March, 3pm: ‘From firm-level gravity to aggregate gravity: gains from trade when heterogeneity matters’

Tuesday 15 March, 4pm: ‘Heteroskedasticity, zeros, with application to the distance puzzle’
