A seminar from the School of Education: Presented by Celina Torres-Arcadia, Visiting Scholar, University of Nottingham.

The purpose of this presentation is to share the evolution of a Mexican research network created by the ISSPP initiative (International Successful School Principals Project).

The RIGE (the acronym for Research Network In Educational Management in Spanish) has been working since 2008, documenting 24 cases of successful principals in Mexico and 18 cases of principals of schools which under-form (still in progress).

Some of the main findings of the RIGE will be presented in this seminar, including:

  • The profile of the successful school principal in Mexico
  • The model of competencies of the successful school principal
  • Some preliminary findings about principals of schools which underperform

There will also be a reflection about the relevance of this kind of initiative for developing countries.

This seminar takes place 13.30 – 14.30, Tuesday 10 October in Room C49, Dearing Building, Jubilee Campus.

Refreshments will be available.
