This exploratory afternoon workshop, hosted by the School of Education, aims to bring together colleagues from across the University staff who are interested in educational inquiry (EI) or the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL).

Such EI/SoTL might focus on classroom teaching, online pedagogy, curriculum and assessment innovation, learning technologies or professional education; the scope is necessarily broad.

The session will scope the development of a network of people interested in pursuing scholarly conversations, research and dissemination on teaching and learning matters. The primary goal of the session is, therefore, to discuss the educational issues that colleagues are concerned about, are researching and writing about currently, and that might be of interest in the future.

During a recent visit to Lund University we heard about their Educational Sciences Network. This was an immediate success in bringing together academics interested in EI/SoTL from across the university. We are keen to know whether a similar initiative might work here at Nottingham.

This event will enable colleagues to:

  • find out about existing EI/SoTL activity across the disciplines
  • connect with colleagues who have similar interests in EI/SoTL in other schools
  • discuss possible ways forward

The afternoon event will conclude with refreshments and further opportunities for networking.

The event programme will be available nearer the time.

This event is for staff only and free however, please confirm attendance by registering online (required for catering purposes).
