Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics Seminar

Location

Date(s)

Description

Relevant GI parameters and enzymes for in vitro models of digestion.

In-vitro digestion models are convenient and relatively cheap compared with human feeding trials; any simulation of the human digestive system will always approximate to the situation in-vivo. Prof Carrière will describe some of the latest developments, that he has been part of, which move this model ever closer to the real thing. He will give us some highlights of the INFOGEST network and working group on lipases and lipid digestion.

The speaker will be Professor Frédéric Carrière, Research Director at ‘Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique’ (CNRS) and Aix-Marseille University, Marseille, France (Bioenergetics and Protein Engineering lab since 2018).

This seminar will take place 1-2pm on Tuesday 21 May in A02 Lecture Block, Sutton Bonington.
