On Saturday 15 June the University is once again opening its doors to curious minds of all ages for a free, fun day of discovery on University Park.
Wonder is an opportunity for the local community to come and find out about our groundbreaking research and teaching first hand and have a go at a huge range of interactive activities.
This year we’re celebrating the Year of the Periodic Table, with many of the Wonder activities featuring an element.
Here’s a flavour of what’s taking place on the day:
- Test your skills with LED light sabre training
- Hunt for elements on our periodic table treasure trail
- Meet space-travelling worms and find out how they used oxygen to stay alive
- Become a scientist and see your own DNA
- Build a volcano and your own lava flow using augmented reality
- Create a giant art installation with gold, silver and copper threads
As well as providing a great experience for staff, students and the local community, Wonder also aims to engage with Nottinghamshire children and families in University life, skills and research to inspire more local children towards higher education.
We’d love for you to attend with your family and friends and help us spread the word, to help make this a truly Wonder-ful event!
You can take a look at the full list of activities taking place on the Wonder website.
