This lecture will focus on a pioneering research programme dedicated to improving the understanding and treatment of primary breast cancer in older adults, a population often overlooked in cancer care and clinical studies.

Older age is the most important risk factor for cancer; yet, older people often do not receive optimal treatments. The Nottingham research programme on primary breast cancer in older people is a unique resource for addressing this challenge. So far, it is the only one of its kind reported in the literature.

In this engaging public lecture, speakers will explore the origins of this research initiative, highlight key findings, and discuss future directions aimed at enhancing the care and outcomes of older people diagnosed with breast cancer.

This lecture is part of our monthly Science Public Lecture series - everyone is welcome to join!
