Professor Nolan in Australia

Spring 2017 sees Professor Aoife Nolan, HRLC Economic and Social Rights Unit head, spending time at UNSW Law as a funded Visiting Professorial Fellow.

While in Sydney, Professor Nolan will give a keynote lecture on ‘Child Poverty, Child Rights and Development’ at a workshop on Key Challenges in Children's Rights held by the Australian Human Rights Centre. She will also be presenting on 'Privatisation and Human Rights' at a UNSW Law workshop on Economic and Social Rights, organised by Professor Ros Dixon on 15 February.

On 14 February, she will speak on 'Human Rights Education: Striking a Balance between Law and Political Advocacy' at the 7th Annual Human Rights Tertiary Teachers' Workshop 2017, hosted by the Castan Centre for Human Rights Law. This will follow her participation in 'Human Rights Challenges: A Conversation' at Monash University, chaired by Professor Sarah Joseph.

Professor Nolan will also be taking advantage of her stay to meet with civil society organisations and members of Australian national human rights institutions in order to develop collaborations in areas of common interest.
