Professor Nolan participates in the drafting of recommendations on how human rights leadership can be exercised in and by Scotland

In December 2018, on the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the First Minister’s Advisory Group on Human Rights Leadership published its report on how human rights leadership can be exercised in and by Scotland. Professor Aoife Nolan participated in the work of the Advisory Group led by Professor Alan Miller.

Seven recommendations have been made to First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who welcomed the report and thanked the Advisory Group for their work. She committed to introduce a human rights statutory framework in Scotland and to create a National Taskforce in early 2019, as a first step towards the implementation of the recommendations.
