On 21 September 2017, the Aerospace and Transport Technologies Research Priority Area will host a Transport Technologies Showcase in association with the IMPETUS programme and the Transport Systems Catapult.

The event marks the completion of the Faculty’s IMPETUS programme which has seen successful collaborations with the Transport Systems Catapult and set the foundations for an ongoing strategic partnership.

This free to attend event will bring together transport experts from academia, industry, and supporting organisations including, the Transport Systems Catapult, to discuss the current hot topics in transport technologies across a range of disciplines and transport sectors.

Examples of our leading research will be on display throughout the day, facilities will be available to view and we will host a series of short panel discussions where you can hear about current issues and ask questions of our experts and industry representatives;

Panel Discussions:

  1. Transforming the Railway – Rail Technical Strategy Capability Delivery Plan  - led by Clive Burrows - Group Engineering Director for FirstGroup.
  2. Autonomy – Connected and Autonomous Vehicles - led by Dr Xiaolin Meng – Associate Professor, UK Director of Sino-UK Geospatial Engineering Centre, Faculty of Engineering and Research Priority Area lead for Autonomy
  3. Intelligent Mobility - led by Mark Westwood – Technical Director at the Transport Systems Catapult

Presentations:

IMPETUS – Collaborative placements with the Transport Systems Catapult - led by Prof Sarah Sharples - Associate Faculty Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research & Knowledge Exchange, Professor of Human Factors, Faculty of Engineering

Propulsion Futures Beacon -led by Prof Herve Morvan - Director of the Institute for Aerospace Technology, APVC Innovation, Business Engagement & Impact, and Professor of Applied Fluid Mechanics, Faculty of Engineering
