The ISSUE first web seminar

 

The first Webinar of THE ISSUE project on the topic of Location Intelligence and Open Data was presented by Mike Jackson (left in image) and co-authored with Suchith Anand (centre image) at Warsaw on 3rd July 2013. The presentation was an introduction to the topics of open data, open source software and open standards and why they are so important for providing efficient and sustainable location-based services (especially intelligent transportation) in the digitally connected Smart City. This Webinar was the first of the planned cycle of meetings in frame of Master Class Exchange Programme, as part of THE ISSUE project.

The Issue - First Web Seminar, Warsaw, 2013

Following the webinar five Splinter Groups were formed to discuss on how the Open Source Data solutions can be included in particular challenges on Intelligent traffic management systems ; monitoring and forecasting to manage urban air quality and greenhouse gas emissions; urban and regional road networks; urban transport, mobility, intermodality and interoperability; improving safety, security and health for urban communities.
