He completed his MD in 1998, and received his PhD in Orthopedics in 2004. He did a two-year postdoctoral training at Boston University, United States, where he also earned his MSc degree in Epidemiology. Dr. Englund heads the Clinical Epidemiology Unit, Orthopedics at Lund University and also holds a position as adjunct associate professor at Boston University School of Medicine. His main research focus is the role of meniscus in early knee OA development as well as OA pathogenesis using translational research approaches and the societal burden of musculoskeletal disease.
Marta Pineda

After completing a Masters’ degree in Biomedicine in 2016, I commenced working in the field of musculoskeletal research specifically focusing on the evaluation and management of the secondary effects of Aromatase Inhibitors in breast cancer patients.
I pursued this study further in a D Phil entitled "Epidemiological study of aromatase inhibitors in women diagnosed with breast cancer: evaluation and management of secondary effects" at the University of Barcelona (UB) .
My background includes experience in studies using routinely collected (real world) health data, experience in pharmacoepidemiology and knowledge of data sciences, medical statistics and epidemiology.
Subhashisa Swain

I am a qualified Physiotherapist from National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research, India and Master of Public Health (Epidemiology) 2010-2012 from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, India and Diploma certificate in Global Health from Maastricht University, The Netherlands. My PhD was on 'Epidemiology of Osteoarthritis and associated comorbidities' from the University of Nottingham, UK.
My research interests are multimorbidity, ageing, frailty, musculoskeletal epidemiology and primary care. I have eight years of experience in doing research in multimorbidity in both developing and developed countries. I am interested in Electronic health records research, Mendelian randomisation, Meta analysis, Clustering techniques, geospatial epidemiology and non-pharmacological interventions.
I supervised postgraduate students on the MSc Sports Science and Masters in Global Health, and undergraduate students on the B Med Sci from the University of Nottingham. Currently, I co-supervise two PhD students in Musculoskeletal Epidemiology.
