CIRP GA in Birmingham a resounding success

Richard Leach and Danny Sims-Waterhouse attended the 69th CIRP GA in Birmingham, UK from 18th to 24th August 2019. The GA was chaired by Prof. Leung Soo and Prof. Raj Roy and was one of the best ever! Prof. Julian Allwood organised the excellent 88-pianist record to kick us off (shown on BBC 1) and the rest of the entertainment was fantastic. Organisation was perfect, partner's program enjoyed (led by Richard's wife Sharmin) and catering excellent. Richard presented a keynote in the main auditorium on AM metrology and was a co-author on the keynote presented by Prof. Wei Gao in STC S. Danny presented on our smart coordinate metrology work in STC P and Richard was promoted to vice chair of STC S. Well done to all involved; they should be proud of a highly successful event that will be talked about for years to come.
