MMT at ISMTII 2019

MMT at ISMTII

Joe Eastwood, George Gayton, Carlos Gomez, Richard Leach and Mingyu Liu attended the 14^th International Symposium on Measurement and Intelligent Instruments from 30^th August to 2^nd September 2019 in Niigata, Japan. They presented 4 oral papers:

• Autonomous close-range photogrammetry using machine learning
• Modelling fringe projection based on linear systems theory and geometric transformation
• Defect detection for structured surfaces via light scattering and machine learning
• Comparison of two noise reduction methods in coherence scanning interferometry for surface  measurement 

All papers were received well and attracted multiple questions. The conference attended by around 200 metrology experts. The conference banquet included fireworks from the 31^st floor. Richard also attended a meeting of the International Committee of Measurement and Instrumentation and chaired a session. The next ISMTII will be in Nottingham chaired by MMT in 2021.
