MMT excels at the Advanced Manufacturing Showcase event

On 12th March 2020, the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Showcase was held in the Advanced Manufacturing Building. From the Manufacturing Metrology Team, Rong Su participated as a Postdoc researcher, while Sofia Catalucci, Afaf Remani and Poom Juasiripukdee participated as PhD students. Winners were announced:

• Afaf Remani won the “1 Minute Madness – Pitch Perfect PhD” competition with a presentation on “In situ monitoring of metal powder bed fusion for defect detection using fringe projection”.
• Poom Juasiripukdee won the “2nd year PGR Posters” competition with a poster on “Low thermal expansion machine frame design using lattice structures”.
• Sofia Catalucci won the “3-minute Thesis” competition with a presentation on “Smart optical measurement of additively manufactured parts”.
• Rong Su won the “Best Journal Paper” competition with his paper entitled “Lens aberration compensation in interference microscopy”.

All winners are qualified to participate in the Faculty of Engineering Showcase Event, to be held in May, and compete against finalists from other research groups within the Faculty.
