Vicente Rivas Santos, Isam Bitar and Luke Todhunter attended the NPL Postgraduate Institute Conference
On 30th and 31st October 2017, Vicente Rivas Santos, Isam Bitar and Luke Todhunter attended the NPL Postgraduate Institute Conference 2017 at the National Physical Laboratory in Teddington, UK. The conference featured oral and poster presentations from a variety of fields from oceanography to quantum computing, and also included an interesting Keynote from Prof. Martin Hendry, one of the lead astrophysicists involved in the LIGO project that lead to the detection of gravitational waves from a binary black hole system.
During the conference, Vicente delivered an oral presentation on his ‘Design for Metrology’ work for additive manufacturing, Isam presented a poster on his work ‘The application of composite through-thickness assessment to additively manufactured structures’, and Luke presented a poster on his work ‘Development of mathematically-defined surfaces’, which was awarded 2nd place in the ‘Best Poster’ competition.
