Lars Korner, Vicente Rivas Santos and Lewis Newton attended the 27th Annual Solid Freeform Fabrication Symposium from the 8-10 August 2016 at the University of Texas in Austin, Austin, TX, USA. The scope of the conference was broad and covered the many research fields within additive manufacturing. This was also attended by other members of the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in additive manufacturing and three-dimensional printing, in which Lars, Vicente and Lewis represented the Manufacturing Metrology Team. Vicente and his group presented a poster titled ‘Inkjet printed LFP and LTO electrodes for lithium micro-batteries’. Lars, Lewis and their group presented a poster titled Complex functional surface design for additive manufacturing’, this was also submitted as a conference proceeding. The symposium was attended by over 600 participants and attendees from both industry and academia, running approximately 350 presentations over eight parallel sessions.
