Richard Leach attended the euspen Structured and Freeform Surfaces (SFS) special interest group meeting from 9th to 10th November 2016 at the Danish Technical University, Denmark. This was the 5th SFS meeting and was attended by around 60 experts and students. Richard is the chair of SFS and co-chaired the conference with Prof. Hans Hansen from DTU. He gave a tutorial on Basics of surface texture measurement and characterisation and presented a paper entitled “A complex 3D freeform measurement system for additively manufactured components: first steps”; describing our research to develop a fast form measurement capability for complex objects.
