Biography

Professor Davis qualified from Bristol University in 1980 and completed his Trauma and Orthopaedic training on the Northern Training Scheme, centered in Newcastle.

He was appointed Senior Lecturer in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Nottingham University in 1991 and moved into the NHS as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Nottingham University Hospitals in 1995. He specializes in Hand Surgery. He was subsequently appointed as an Honorary Professor, now attached to the Division of Rheumatology, Orthopaedics and Dermatology, in 1999.

Professor Davis was President of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2009 and Editor of the Journal of Hand Surgery in 2000-2004 and 2008. He is currently the Chair of the Research and Audit committee of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (2012-)
