The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Carbon Capture and Storage and Cleaner Fossil Energy (CCSCFE) aims to tackle Global challenges, such as reducing the world’s carbon footprint to mitigate the effects that Climate Change is having on our planet.
The Centre draws on the internationally-leading fossil energy programme at the University of Nottingham and on colleagues at Loughborough University, University of Sheffield, University of Birmingham and the British Geological Survey.
The Centre is to produce research leaders to tackle the major national and international challenges over the next 15 years.
This will be through implementing new power plant to generate electricity more efficiently using fossil energy with near zero emissions.
